א"ל רב חייא לרבא ולתנא דבי חזקיה דאמר מכה אדם ומכה בהמה ממאי דבחול כתיב וליכא לאיפלוגי דלמא בשבת כתיב דבבהמה גופה איכא לאיפלוגי

Hiyya said to Rava: And according to the Tanna of the House of Hezekiah, who says: [It is written] “He that kills a man . . . He that kills a beast” [etc.,] how does he know that it refers to a week-day and there is no distinction to be made? Perhaps it refers to Shabbat, [in which case] there is a distinction to be made with regard to the beast itself?
